NYMMO made their first official public appearance today at the Open Farm Sunday event held at Stonebeck Gate Farm at Danby. Alongside the NYMMO display there was the opportunity to watch sheep dog trialling, sheep shearing, gun dog displays, dry stone walling and get involved with various other interactive activities, displays and also the chance to get up close and personal with some of the animals.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day, the weather was gorgeous, we got to introduce our organisation and to have some nice informative chats about birds, dogs and also a lot of what we do and why. This was a really good day out, the numerous children there loved the animals on offer and I think it was a great introduction to countryside life.
A massive thanks to Pete, Charlie and Mike for their time and knowledge, they certainly looked the part and they were a great advertisement for NYMMO.
Our next NYMMO outing sees us working with the NGO (National Gamekeepers Organisation) to hold our annual charity clay shoot where the money raised this year will be donated to the Great North Air Ambulance. This event will be held at Spaunton Quarry on the 11th June, please come and join us, have a shoot with the possibility of winning some fantastic prizes, enter the raffle and have a look at some of the great auction lots on offer that are running till the beginning of August. Visit the facebook and website pages for further information, the auction lists and raffle items will be available shortly, so don’t miss out on some really great lots.
