GPS helps the Gamekeepers

The North Yorkshire Moors sees it’s fair share of foggy days but thanks to the wonders of modern technology our Gamekeepers still manage to complete their everyday jobs without any issues.  In moving with the times and carrying a GPS gamekeepers, not only reduce the risk of getting lost, but they also receive a real helping hand in locating traps and grit trays.

Fog can be really disorientating and can even catch out some of the best ground experts, for anyone out walking on the moors on these foggy days even if you prefer to use a paper map and a compass, a GPS device or app is a fantastic backup.  Even the most basic GPS will give you the local grid reference so you can find your position on the paper map.
