Young heather absorbs more carbon than rank older strands of heather.

It’s been only 4 months since the Gamekeeper performed a cool burn on this area of Moorland and the impressive heather regeneration is instantly visible.

Cool burns are carried out by the Gamekeepers during October to April. At this time of year the fire doesn’t touch the underground peat but only removes the old long rank heather and there is also the minimal chance of damage to any wildlife.
