BBC Countryfile Live South at Blenheim Palace

A massive well done to all the NYMMO keepers who travelled down to Blenheim Palace for BBC Countryfile Live last week.

4 Days packed full of interaction, education, game tasting and most definitely fun. The opportunity for the gamekeepers to speak with the general public about real country life as opposed to the chosen subjects shown on the Countryfile TV programme is one definitely not to be missed.

The children and adults alike enjoyed plucking their own pigeons and then getting them cooked ready for sampling with some excellent feedback on taste. The Moorland scene showcased the best of what’s good on managed moors but also the negatives if left unmanaged.

Countryfile’s very own Adam Henson pulled on the National Gamekeepers Organisation apron and cooked up same game much to the pleasure of the watching public and Jimmy Shuttlewood took centre stage with a televised interview with the Countryfile programme.  Fingers crossed these events make the cut and are shown on the television for all Countryfile viewers to enjoy.

Countryfile North at Castle Howard is the next show we will be attending so do come along and enjoy a great family day out, from the 15th – 18th August.

Back to the day job now for the keepers and the small matter of the 12th August only a week away.
