Celebrate Great British Game Week with Wild & Game

As we celebrate Great British Game Week each day we will be looking at some of the places where you can buy game. We will try to counter the constant myths that game is also often surprisingly affordable.

1st up is Wild & Game – Exquisitely Delicious Game From the Great British Countryside.

Wild and Game is a non-profit organisation with the main aim of introducing the British public to the great taste of game meat.  They have launched a delicious range of game-based pies, pasties, sausage rolls and sausages, giving a true taste of the countryside.

Their tasty recipes incorporate low-fat, low cholesterol game meat from game birds such as pheasant, partridge and grouse, with the added benefit of being able to enjoy these all year round.

Once deemed so expensive that it was reserved for the privileged few, game meat is now in plentiful supply and by selecting only the highest quality ingredients to go into their recipes, the pies and pasties taste fantastic.

Game meat is low in fat, high in protein and tastes great, so go on and give it a try!

Pheasant Curry at the Soup Kitchen

The Pheasant Curry was kindly delivered to the soup kitchen at the Columba Project last night by our NYMMO member John Cavana where almost 40 people arrived for the meal.

The pheasants were donated by one of our NYMMO estates and chatting to the recipients they gave it a thumbs up and said they liked the different taste.

We also left a batch of frozen game ready meals kindly supplied by Wild & Game to help them out till we get back in with some more home made cooked game meals in the near future.
