Thank you to everyone who entered our “GAME FOR GRANDAD COMPETITION”.
We received lots of fantastic entries but we’re very pleased to say we have now chosen our winner.
The winning entry is from Lee Richardson with his “Grandad – Barry Richardson” the star of the photo and he will be in receipt of some very tasty game straight from the North York Moors very soon.
COMPETITION TIME – GAME FOR GRANDAD
NYMMO is launching our “Game For Grandad” competition to mark Great British Game Week which is a week long celebration running from 20th-26th November to promote and enjoy wild game.
NYMMO have so far this year engaged directly with children on various activities to educate about managed moorland and now after being approached several times whilst out on a shoot day by some of the elder generation I have given in to “peer” pressure and put the “Golden Oldies” to the forefront.
I’m sure you’ll all have some standout photos of Grans or Grandads or just some special elderly people so please send us through your photos, you can do this via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or through our pages on facebook, instagram or twitter.
Entries close 8pm on the 24th November and the lucky winner will receive a selection of game delivered directly to their door to cook, try and most importantly enjoy. The more obscure the photos the better, they do not have to be shooting related, we like anything odd! Delivery for the winning entry will be made by NYMMO to North Yorkshire or Co. Durham any further afield you can still enter but we will have to arrange collection.
Please get searching through your “Elder Statesman or Stateswoman” photos and send them in.
The 26th October marked the first awards ceremony for NYMMO and what a great success it was.
We are very pleased and proud to say that we are now award winners after we picked up the “Individual & Supporter Organisations Award” at The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Recognition Awards evening. We received a signed certificate and also a signed framed picture of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Helicopters. The evening was absolutely fantastic and the venue, the hospitality, the food and the company were all second to none.
For us as a group to raise funds and be a recognised supporter of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance makes us so proud and to be invited on stage last night in a room full of absolute star fundraisers this recognition was the absolute icing on the cake.
NYMMO would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported our events and to the generous donations received of auction lots, raffle prizes, monetary donations and very importantly peoples time as without this we would not have been able to achieve this wonderful feat. A special mention must also be given to the Snilesworth Estate led by Jimmy Shuttlewood and his team of gamekeepers who raise money throughout the shooting season which they donate all to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Evenings like this are a perfect platform to meet new people, tell them of the positives of shooting estates and how they greatly impact on the local communities and economy. Moorland Groups are making big strides in promoting the benefits of managed moorland and the charity work is only a small part of what we are acheiving. NYMMO are not the only group who has been actively fundraising we are just fortunate that we have been nominated.
We will be continuing with our support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity and if we can do our bit to help keep those vital helicopters flying then that in our eyes is all the thanks we need.
