2017 Auction Review – Bolting Rabbits

A day bolting rabbits was kindly donated by Charlie and alongside his assistant Dave they ensured Jason and Alan the winning bidders from our 2017 charity auction had a day out to remember in the North York Moors.

I received this message in from Jason:-

“Charlie was an excellent host who ensured the day ran smoothly.  We were on the edges of the moor to start with and witnessed an abundance of wildlife from Buzzards, Curlew, Lapwings and a healthy supply of grouse.  It is testament to how well the moors are managed under the stewardship of dedicated people such as Charlie.

After lunch we went into the valley and saw songbirds and kestrels, and finished the day off with a few more rabbits. It was a real pleasure to spend a day with a knowledgeable person who explained the management of the moor to us and the diversity of the wildlife that inhabits it.  If only more people could have the benefit of this insight, I am sure there would be a vast amount more support for the work that moorland gamekeepers carry out.

A great day spent with a great moorland ambassador – thank you.”

A successful ferreting day ending with a good bag of 25 rabbits, some testing shooting all surrounded by the lovely North York Moors scenery.

Keep your eyes peeled our 2018 auction will be coming soon……
